GM2 completed its first vertical design/build project in 2013 for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (pictured below) in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. This Army Reserve Center was designed to complement New Hampshire architecture while considering safety requirements for a military facility. GM2 was also the design lead and design manager for the replacement of the bridge carrying U.S. Route 302 over the Sawyer River in Hart’s Location, New Hampshire through the environmentally sensitive White Mountain National Forest. The new one hundred thirty-five foot steel girder bridge opened in September 2013, replaced a ninty-five foot steel bridge built in 1993 damaged by Hurricane Irene. Our team completed the bridge design from preliminary plans to release for construction in a mere three months.
