Frederick J. Vincent
Director of Operations for Rhode Island
Mr. Vincent is a former Deputy Director of the Rhode Island Department of Transportation. During his tenure at RIDOT, he helped to establish the first Community Liaison Unit, tasked with providing timely and accurate public information to the public on all RIDOT road and bridge projects. He also frequently served as the Department’s spokesperson and was involved in such important transportation projects as Capital Center/River Relocation, Newport Gateway Visitors Center, and the terminal expansion at T.F. Green State Airport.
Prior to Mr. Vincent’s time with RIDOT, he served the State of Rhode Island as its Director of Policy, as well as Deputy Chief of Staff in the Office of the Governor. Throughout his career in public service, he also worked on and led the City of Cranston’s City Plan Commission, as well as holding the position of Associate Director for Planning and Administrative Services for the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management. While with RIDEM, Mr. Vincent’s team reorganized the Department and consolidated 21 divisions into 18; improved customer service and permit integration; and streamlined regulatory compliance assistance.
