Location(s): Tampa, FL/Wellington, FL Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated CEI Project Administrator/Project Engineer for Bridge & Highway to join our team in Tampa/Wellington, Florida (in-office). This full-time position is ideal for someone with 3-5 years of experience in civil engineering or construction management, specifically in major road or bridge projects. As a Project Engineer, you will support project teams by interpreting construction drawings, performing material takeoffs, coordinating work groups, and maintaining project documentation. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively are key to the successful completion of FDOT projects. The ideal candidate will be familiar with FDOT standards and procedures and have experience in work plan preparation, schedule coordination, and overall construction management. Key Responsibilities: Assist in interpretation of drawings and specifications for field crews and craft supervision Perform quantity calculations by taking measurements and determining percentage of completed/installed materials and work Assist in the preparation of work plans and work packages Assist in compiling, processing, and confirming daily labor timesheets Assist in the preparation of Job Hazard Analysis (JHA’s) Plan, schedule, and coordinate work groups on the jobsite Perform material takeoffs from drawings, specifications, and other contract documents Perform basic engineering calculations and technical drafting to support field operations Assist engineers to gather and prepare data for submittal or transmittal to the customer, vendors, subcontractors, governmental agencies, and internal use Assist in the maintenance of basic project recordkeeping and correspondence functions including daily reports, photographs, requests for information (RFIs), and memorandums Enter data into the job cost system and participate in reviewing cost reports with jobsite management Assist in generating change orders and as-built data to be reviewed by the Project Manager Assist in reviewing and analyzing historical data relative to the project, incorporating various productions and costs appropriate in preparation of a bid Complete material and quantity takeoffs according to bid documents Perform other duties as needed   Qualifications: Education and Certifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, or Construction Management Must have a valid Driver’s License Experience: 3-5 years of related professional experience in major road or bridge projects, preferably FDOT projects Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications Technical Skills: Knowledge of FDOT standards, requirements, and procedures Working knowledge of computers and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel Key Competencies: Strong organizational and time management skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Good attention to detail, with the ability to recognize discrepancies Ability to work independently as well as part of a team Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environments Interpersonal Skills: Ability to communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others, individually or in a team environment

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing multi-million-dollar construction projects, ensuring their successful delivery. You will act as the primary liaison between contractors and the Client/Owner, representing the Owner on FDOT projects. This position requires a strong technical background, leadership skills, and extensive experience in construction engineering and inspection (CEI). Key Responsibilities: Responsibility for the overall management and successful delivery of multi-million-dollar projects Acting as the primary liaison with contractor(s) on behalf of the Client/Owner, as part of a CEI team representing the Owner Leading a project team consisting of project controllers and inspectors responsible for contract administration and construction materials testing Managing day-to-day activities such as progress meetings, submittal and RFI reviews, contractor pay applications, quality assurance testing and inspection, schedule reviews, and progress reporting Coordinating with designers to resolve technical/engineering issues Perform other duties as needed   Qualifications: Education and Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE) license in State of Florida Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management Experience: 10 years of related experience in various aspects of construction, including: Estimating, Bidding, Preparing purchase orders and subcontracts, Scheduling, Field engineering Prior Resident Engineer experience on FDOT projects Experience developing and managing construction engineering and inspection programs Technical Skills: Thorough knowledge of FDOT standards, requirements, and procedures Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Experience with Bluebeam, estimating & scheduling software, and web-based document collaboration software Communication Skills: Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and people skills
