RZ Design Associates, a GM2 company, is seeking structural engineers who can assist in the design of load bearing structures/building structures under the direction of a Professional Engineer. This position is available for our Rocky Hill, CT office or our Tampa, FL office. Responsibilities Performing structural analysis, calculating required demand and capacities, and performing calculations used in designing vertical structures, building structures, and/or structural elements Preparing construction plans for building structures and other supporting documents: drafting sketches, contract drawings, and specifications using Revit and AutoCAD Review construction administration such as Request for Information (RFI), shop drawings, and/or contractor requests Review project documentation for conformity and quality assurance, such as shop drawings, submittals, reports, and calculations Working on a team or independently on simple and complex projects Applying extensive and diverse knowledge of principles and practices for a wide range of materials and construction techniques Performing hand calculations and creating computer analysis models for structural design tasks. Coordinating structural work with other disciplines Help conduct field inspections & condition assessments and prepare reports. Requirements Master's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field Working knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, and other engineering design software 5 years of experience preferred EIT or PE license in a New England state or Florida preferred, or ability to earn within 6 months
