Assistant Team Leader (Bridge Inspection)

Assistant Team Leaders to perform National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS) bridge inspection and load ratings.  The successful candidate will primarily conduct bridge inspections, prepare field inspection reports, and perform load ratings.  Will also operate personnel lift equipment, climb ladders, install traffic control devices, and undertake other tasks in support of inspection activities. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:  reviewing previous inspection reports and available record data; performing field inspections and compiling related reports; taking direction from the Project Manager and other senior staff; and ensuring technical compliance. GM2 is hiring entry-level Structural/Bridge Engineers with 0-5 years of project experience for our MA, CT, NH, and RI offices. Our structural engineers work on the design, analysis and constructability of bridges ranging in complexity from culverts to highway interchange structures utilizing steel, reinforced, and prestressed concrete. This position requires an energetic, competent, self-starting young engineer looking to apply skills and knowledge to challenging transportation projects. The team leader position will assist in directing the work of team members and coordination with clients along with performing inspection. Responsibilities Conducts safety inspections of bridges and tunnels and prepares written reports of the conditions of the structures. Performs or leads in-depth inspections using non-destructive testing methods, mechanized access equipment and/or climbing gear. GM2 is searching for a Director of Geotechnical Engineering Services. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead and grow a group of geotechnical engineers servicing internal and external  clients in the New England region and beyond. This role can be based out of any of our MA, NH, RI, or CT locations. The Director of Geotechnical Engineering Services will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of geotechnical services at GM2 including business development, growth and coordination of geotechnical services, staff development and management, and collaboration with other members of the GM2 senior management team to achieve strategic goals. Responsibilities Overall management of geotechnical services and staff, including planning, growth, profitability, cost control, professional development, scheduling, and quality control. Manage relations with existing clients, develop new business and clients, and prepare proposals, budgets, and scope of work for geotechnical projects. Recruitment, development, and mentoring of geotechnical staff to grow their technical, collaborative, and leadership skills. Water Resource Project Engineer GM2 seeks a Water Resource Project Engineer to join our team with the ability to collaborate with both municipal and state clients in Connecticut and Massachusetts to prepare hydrologic, hydraulic, and stormwater management reports, studies, and designs.  Responsibilities to include: Design and analysis of water resources engineering project elements in riverine and tidal conditions, including hydrologic, hydraulic, floodplain, and scour studies, channel stability and realignment design, scour countermeasure design, and fisheries enhancements. Design and analyze stormwater management systems, including closed drainage systems, culverts, bridge deck drainage and roadside ditches. Develop and oversee plans, specifications, and technical reports and ensure complete, accurate work, in accordance with good engineering practice. Develop technical resolution of design problems through field investigation, inspections, detailed design, and peer review of design computations.
