Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering required; civil engineering degree preferred.
  • Florida PE License required, or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
  • A minimum of 5 years of drainage design experience for highway and/or site civil projects required; Florida DOT drainage design experience is highly preferred.
  • Experience with StormWise (formerly ICPR) , HEC-RAS, or other similar hydrologic/hydraulic analysis design software for highway and/or site/civil projects.
  • Experience preparing drainage reports, pond siting reports, etc. and associated drainage calculations for highway and/or site/civil projects.
  • Experience with permitting of highway and/or site/civil design projects involving local, state and/or federal agencies.
  • Experience with MicroStation, ORD, AutoCAD, Civil 3D or similar CAD software.

Responsibilities

  • Work on a variety of projects including roadway projects, surface water management studies, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, drainage analysis and design, flood studies, and bridge hydraulics.
  • Prepare hydraulic and hydrology studies, drainage areas maps, storm sewer networks, stormwater management facilities, drainage reports, design documents, and design plans and specifications for highway and site/civil design projects.
  • Prepare and submit local, state and/or federal stormwater permit applications for highway design and sit/civil design projects.
