Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering required; civil or transportation engineering degree preferred.
- Florida PE License required, or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
- A minimum of 8 years of state Department of Transportation (DOT) highway design experience required; Florida DOT experience highly preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years of state DOT highway design project management experience required; Florida DOT experience highly preferred.
- Proficiency in MicroStation, ORD, AutoCAD, Civil 3D or similar CAD software.
Role Description/Duties
- Manage highway design projects to ensure successful project execution (quality, schedule, and budget).
- Serve as liaison between clients, design teams, subconsultants, agencies, contractors, and the public.
- Lead project team meetings.
- Develop and maintain project budgets and schedules.
- Monitor progress toward deliverable schedules and prepare progress reports.
- Assist in development of scopes of service for highway design projects.
- Prepare and/or review construction plans, reports, technical specifications, estimates, and other contract documents for highway design projects.
- Provide technical assistance in resolving design problems.
- Review and supervise the work produced by staff for quality assurance.
- Assist with preparation of project invoices.
- Assist with the marketing of the firm to establish new clients and enhance relationships.
- Participate in the preparation of project proposals, presentations, and public meetings.
