Position Overview:
GM2 Associates, Inc is seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join our Transportation Group in delivering a wide range of transportation improvement projects to our clients. As Senior Project Engineer, you will coordinate and deliver transportation engineering projects within scope, budget, and time schedules from initial start-up through project closeout. These projects can range from intersection and multimodal corridor improvement projects to bridge reconstructions. You will be a technical resource for the office, responsible for handling specific design aspects on projects related to roadway design and coordinating the technical and project deliverable efforts of the assigned design team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute discipline delivery on large, multi-disciplinary projects.
- Perform and be responsible for the discipline-specific planning, leadership, work distribution, and adherence to the scope, schedule, and budget of assigned engineering projects.
- Engage proactively with clients, and marketing pursuits, including proposal generation to achieve company goals
- Assist with the preparation, coordination, and planning of multidiscipline projects, including the distribution of work across various company disciplines.
- Coordinate technical aspects of the project with our client counterparts and teaming partners at staff level for work within the discipline on complex or unusual engineering projects.
- Use technical expertise to consider a broad range of engineering solutions.
- Oversee the accuracy and completeness of the project team’s work across technical disciplines, while providing technical guidance and mentoring to ensure alignment with overall project objectives.
Qualifications:
- Educational - Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering
- Experience - Extensive technical and professional knowledge in highway and roadway engineering acquired through at least 8 years of progressive experience
- Licenses & Certifications - Professional Engineer (PE) license in at least one New England state and the ability to obtain licensure in additional states. Existing multiple state licensure preferred (MA, NH, CT, RI, VT)
- Technical Skills & Knowledge - Knowledge of MassDOT and AASHTO standards, guidelines, and project development requirements. Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D. Proficiency in Microsoft office suite and Bluebeam
- Project & Client Management - Proven track record of successfully managing transportation projects. Experience in maintaining client relationships. Experience in winning new work (business development)
- Leadership – Excellent ability to manage team, thought leadership with exceptional analytical skills and effective communication skills with ability to mentor junior engineers and lead in a team environment.
