GM2 worked with the Hingham Housing Authority and the Massachusetts Housing Partnership on due diligence, site evaluation and design of the development of affordable housing on Beal Street in Hingham.

Bare Cove Park is a 470-acre area of open space with walking trails, forests, meadows and salt marshes.  Abutting it is the 55-acre School Depot parcel, where the Town has consolidated various Town functions, including the new DPW facility and recreational complex, and proposed affordable housing. Two parcels within the School Depot have been designated for affordable housing: a “Hingham Housing Partnership” parcel and a yet to be determined portion of Hingham Housing Authority (HHA) land. The proposed development plan for 50 units of affordable housing at the HHA parcel has resulted from years of input from the HHA, local selectmen, the Town Administrator and Planner, the Hingham Housing Partnership and local residents.

The HHA parcel is approximately 15-acres in size. Services included:

  • Obtaining local Conservation Commission approval of resource area delineation (ANRAD);
  • Developing a plan for subdividing the Site in accordance with local and state ANR requirements;
  • Site preparation, including the design and permitting for the relocation of an existing parking lot; and
  • Conceptual layout of the 50 units of housing
