The Bloomfield Board of Education contracted with GM2 for structural and site engineering services to address necessary improvements to their High School. The structural improvements included a new entrance to the building, and media center and auditorium additions.

The site improvements entailed expansion of the existing parking to provide more convenient access to the schools south entrance, handicap drop-off and access to the west entrance, improved pedestrian and handicap access to the school and athletic facilities, landscaping, and improved bus circulation as well as upgrades to pick-up and drop-off areas.

GM2’s survey services included a topographic survey of the 30-acre portion of the site impacted by the renovations. The base survey included all existing features such as specimen trees, utilities, property line and street line, parking stalls, athletic fields and contours at two-foot intervals.

Site services included the development and evaluation of concepts. GM2’s design incorporated elements that improved pedestrian access and connectivity site-wide, including on the local roadway system. Structural design services were furnished for the new entrance, auditorium, and media center additions. Existing structural components were also evaluated for compliance to code requirements and new components incorporated to support the new infrastructure.
