The Broadway Bridge has become “Daytona Beach’s newest permanent art exhibit”, according to the Orlando Sentinel. During two community design charrettes, participants voted on aesthetic elements inspired by the theme of “Timeless Ecology”. This collaborative selection process fostered consensus and propelled the project forward without opposition, ultimately resulting in a bridge that has been warmly embraced by the public.

Each bridge pier is adorned with 10’ tall ceramic tile murals of swimming dolphins and manatees, while the pedestrian walkway is lined with 6’ tall ceramic tile medallions. A total of 36 medallions showcase wildlife indigenous to the area, including various fish species and a pair of bald eagles at the bridge's apex, creating a captivating linear gallery for pedestrians. Additionally, the bridge features variable depth spans that give it an elegant arched appearance, with a vertical clearance of 65’ over the Intracoastal Waterway.

The twin 3,008’ precast concrete segmental structures have typical spans of 262’. The bridge was built in balanced cantilever from barge-mounted cranes. The GM2 Complex Bridge team conducted the community design charettes and provided design and design office support during construction
