The Capital Cascades Connector Bridge is an innovative, eco-friendly pedestrian bridge that provides an outdoor park experience for walkers, runners, and cyclists. The sculptural concrete bridge carries a 12’ wide multiuse trail that connects parks and recreational areas with an extensive trail system to coastal waterways. The bridge connects a range of neighborhoods, business districts, government buildings, and Florida A&M University, resulting in Cascades Park being “the most diverse park in the state capital” and spurring economic growth and redevelopment.

The Tallahassee community selected a modern design with large canopies, limestone-shaped abutments, and signature LED lighting during a charette process.

GM2's Complex Bridge staff developed the design of this project.
