The GM2 Complex Bridge team served as a special consultant to Hanson Engineers for the design of this 4,620’ long composite concrete and steel cable-stayed bridge. Spanning the Mississippi River near Alton, Illinois, the bridge features twin planes of stays and a striking single pylon. The main span measures an impressive 756’ in length.

The GM2 Complex Bridge team was responsible for the conceptual design and final design verification, as well as developing the cable-stayed specifications. The team provided comprehensive support, including shop drawing reviews, design office assistance, and on-site technical guidance for the Illinois Department of Transportation. Additionally, the team designed a concrete cable-stayed alternative.
