GM2 is providing consulting services which include Structural Engineering for the conversion of an existing fossil fueled steam-electric facility which provides steam and chilled water to various R&D facilities and Medical Campuses located in Cambridge and Boston, MA. The facility owner will be removing a retired oil-fired steam turbine generator set and replacing it with two electric steam boilers to provide steam to their district energy customers. The plant will also require extensive electrical systems upgrades to accommodate this conversion.
