GM2 was given numerous assignments under this On-Call Traffic Engineering contract, including the below detailed tasks:
Assignment 1 - GM2 provided design services for replacement of traffic signals at 5 intersections throughout CT. The intersections required replacement of old mast arms and signal equipment with new ones. Special consideration was required for placement of new signal equipment so that they would not interfere with the existing ones during construction. Accident analysis was conducted to see if any safety improvements could be incorporated in the new signal design. GM2 was also responsible for capacity analysis, developing signal timings and preparation of signal plan.
Assignment 2 - GM2 designed the Incident Management System for the Middletown Area. The system includes Variable Message Signs. Cameras and Speed Detectors connected by a Fiber Optic communication system. Also included was overhead LED lane Use Signs on the Arrigoni Bridge.
Assignment 3 - GM2 designed traffic signals at 7 high hazard intersections in various towns. Responsibilities included review of accident history, performing capacity analysis of existing and proposed conditions, preparing signal plans, and developing signal timings and phasing. Accident analysis was conducted at each of these intersections to see if any safety improvements could be incorporated in the new signal design.
